Dave,
Thanks for the feedback.

Actually, I am not licensed in CA. I am in South Carolina... and I have not taken those special exams.

But, if I were in your shoes, I would go to PPI2pass to get your materials for the CA special civil and special seismic exams. If you add the discount code within my checklist that may help a bit.

As far as study time, if feasible, I would probably tack on another 80 hours or so for each exam - plus the 300 recommended hours for the civil exam (a total of 460 hours). I know that is a lot of time and there is a short time ahead. But, the tried and true way to pass is to put the time into it. You may not be able to physically put that much into it, but do the best you can. It will all be over in a couple months...

Let me know if there is anything else I can do!

Hi Andy,
Good job with the PE podcasts!
I believe you are a PE in CA. So here's my question:
I'm taking the California Special Civil (seismic + surveying) and was wondering if you have any good study materials that you suggest for these two exams. Also, how long should you prepare for each of the two?

Thanks!
